About

Our property has ample indoor and outdoor play areas as well as an assortment of farm animals.

Children will have the opportunity to hatch out chicks and ducklings and will be involved in caring for the animals as part of their day at Little Blue.

Our Mission

Our focus at Little Blue Early Learning Centre is learning and discovering through play. We actively engage children in an environment rich with opportunities to explore and challenge their capabilities. We capitalize on the children’s emergent interest and use unexpected events or discoveries whenever they occur to help children to explore and extend their own knowledge of the world.

Using our knowledge, understanding and experience in child development, our program design includes opportunities for:

  • Large and small muscle development

  • Sensory play

  • Creative movement and music activities

  • Dramatic play

  • Arts, crafts and construction activities

  • Outdoor play

  • Creating and exploring

  • Literacy activities

  • Field trips

Our program has a consistent yet flexible daily schedule which allows us to be child centered and respond to their needs and interest.

Each child is challenged at his/her individual level of development at the same time the needs of the whole group are being addressed.

Experiential activities (learning through play) are presented in a non-threatening respectful and fun environment. No child is pressed to conform or produce except in matters of safety.

Nurturing self-esteem and establishing acceptable behaviour and social skills are integral part of this philosophy. The aim is to facilitate each child’s growing appreciation of being part of a group, cooperation and sharing with friends, of respect for space and property of others. We recognize the unique learning styles of children by using a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate and help children to progress from one developmental level to the next at his/her own rate.

Our Philosophy

Children have a right to be respected as unique individuals. They are entitled to environments and opportunities that foster emotional, cognitive and physical development

Families have the right to be involved in a meaningful way in their child’s preschool experience and deserve assurance of quality care programs for their child while they are involved in work, education, other commitments and personal fulfillment. Little Blue has an “Open Door” policy for families.

Educators are entitled to a working environment that recognizes and respects their training, skills and commitment to children and support to families. This is demonstrated through respectful communication and personnel policies.

Child Care programs enhance the lives of children, their families, and the community by providing a caring, supportive and vital community service.

Our Staff
